Did you receive a message from a user known as @ dv awarding you a title? Did they say anything else to you, or did any administrators tell you to stop speaking to them?
It appears to have contacted those involved in the glitch earlier so far.
Some of those who replied to this user were intercepted by administrators telling users not to interact with them anymore, among other things. I can't say if the message was safe for your system or not, so yours may have been the right choice. But the demeanor of the administrative response is unexpected.
[A cell phone number with a Berkeley area code is provided.]
Hey. Sorry about this.
Could you let me know if you hear anything back about Morgan or Kabru? I'm concerned his family won't take action. And I have text logs with him from the night before if the police need it.
( On Dehya's RL number, she gets a message left for her from Cithis's phone: )
"Good afternoon, Dehya— you'll have to forgive me for not getting back to you sooner. My week has been... quite the experience. Kabru came to pick up Morgan for their trip last Saturday; he said he found Morgan unconscious in the computer room, and couldn't get him up. He carted Morgan off to a hospital, and the poor thing's been in a coma since.
"Then it turned into a whole reality TV bit— you really should've been there. Morgan's parents had an earful for the doctors, and Kabru ended up getting a little too involved... Then, a few days ago, the eldest brother flew in— because a three-way call just wasn't personal enough, I suppose... ( She laughs, faintly. ) And that isn't really getting into the break-ins, or the earful my superiors have been giving me... Oh, pretend you didn't hear that last bit, would you? ♡
"In any case, Morgan opened his eyes today, and that's been a new wave of familial complications. He woke up at... 12:03 PM, the nurse said. Let's hope he stays up, shall we?
"Ah, look at me, getting sidetracked. It was a little up in the air before he woke up, but, well, now that he is... I called to let you know we'll probably still be needing you— more than before, in fact. My and Kabru's employer may be changing, but it's all technicalities, at this point. I can fill you in on the details later. 'til then, all right?"
[This message is such a relief!! Dehya listens to it twice to affirm she got everything correct, then sends a quick message asking when Cithis is free to pick up so she can offer her proper well wishes, and let Cithis know that it turns out they were both playing the same VR game without realizing, and Morgan has a lot of friends that have been worried about them including her. If it's okay with Cithis, she'd be happy to help them deliver any cards or flowers to Morgan while he recovers so they don't have to give out his hospital address on the internet.
She'll also get a few more details on how things are changing and affirm to Cithis that she's making them a priority and not to hesitate to ask her when they need anything done. She'll pass on a hello to Kabru and Mithrun, and end the call saying she hopes Morgan has a speedy recovery.]
Hello. I saw your post and I also received a call from Kabru. Do you think we'd be allowed to visit in person? I have some books he might like to read.
[Well there's that wiggling feeling of something inside her when she plays. But. It hasn't put her in the hospital, so, comparison and scale. Anything else hasn't been permanent, and so far she's dodged the plague (so far).]
I know VR is untested tech in a lot of ways but the way people are getting hurt in real life is getting worse.
You said a lot of people would miss me, right? I remember reading the posts on the forums, and I saw the talk of flowers. But I don't remember the flowers. I don't remember almost anything beyond Fragment.
I feel like, based on the things I've written in my messages, or the forums... I haven't forgotten too much that matters. I've met most of the people I care about here. And I accepted the loss, mostly, I guess.
But I feel a lot further away from people now. Even though I've only met most people here in Fragment. It feels like I've lost something fundamentally human; though, I guess it was never mine to begin with...
I still have some friends, I guess. And I'm trying to do the things I would do before, in Fragment. But I feel distinct now. Separate. It's strange. Even when I'm with Barrett I feel kind of alone. And I don't know if there's anyone else like me yet.
It doesn't make much sense, so it's fine if you have nothing to respond with. But I wanted to say it before I lost the words for this, too.
how do you feel about zelkova withholding the cure to the sickness that went around until someone asked him for it? despite how it was a thing everyone was suffering under being an AI would have helped to see oversee everything in fragment yet he did nothing

How have you been holding up since I saw you in that dungeon?
[ In other words, have any of the glitches gotten to her? ]

I've been better than a lot of other people

people are reacting
but before Mithrun lost too much of himself, he said the Wave might be coming
Losing our memories might be part of that
no subject
but this is the first I'm hearing about a wave
did he say where he heard it?

did he know how bad the plague was getting before someone asked him about the cure? I was trying not to catch it and didn't ask him
