I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Although, the outer levels are about as dangerous as it can get. The rules don't exactly apply there all the time, you know.

The avatar bug might have been a test run for that.

I honestly think so, and that it all had one same source. Between the avatar swapping, you being 'sent' somewhere else, and then...what happened with Mithrun.
He still was 'offline', but somehow his avatar moved around anyway. I don't think that was something that should have happened, was it?
