Hey, Mr. Jensen.

We just got handed out our team tickets for our starter game this season. It's next Saturday.

I've got two left over since one of my brothers can't make it. So I wanted to see if you want to go while we're playing in Berkeley.

I want you to see why I want to work as hard as I can in our lessons. Maybe it will help keep me motivated.

Nope.

If anything, I'd like you to be tougher if you think it will help me. My results are all on me.

But is harshness something that actually helps you?

It works the same as football, right?

Coach is hard on us because he wants to see us grow and push past what we're struggling with, so we can play better for the team.

If you were just harsh for the sake of it, Mr. Jensen, I would have left a while ago. I know the difference.

As long as you know the difference, that's all that matters.

But I might have trouble being harsh anyway, especially if you keep buying me coffee. :)

If I stopped getting you coffee, that means I couldn't get myself coffee either, and there's no way I could get through that much math without it.

Don't worry. Even if you get to be a mean old teacher with me, I'll still get you your coffee. :-)

Nope~

It's the sentiment behind the coffee. Sure, it's nice to have a free drink every once in a while, but I know there's a sincerity behind you buying it for me. It's your own little way of thanking me for taking extra time for you.

Well, at least that's what I think. :)

You're doing me a big favor by teaching me, so it's the least I can do, right?

I have an extra ticket along with yours if you wanted to invite somebody else. Like a friend or family or a date. I can give you both if you have somebody in mind.

Well... Yael won't go if I invite him somewhere. I think he's suspicious of me. :(

He is. He lives close enough that we've met a handful of times. :)

He's the kind of guy who needs to be directly invited. Yael's a real stickler like that.

But use my extra ticket for him. I might be able to convince him to buy me snacks in exchange for the ticket. ;)
