People catch on to things sometimes, so it's like...my fault too. But other times people are just kinda catty and prideful. Or people are just looking for a hookup and don't bother trying to treat you decently first. Stuff like that lol. And I don't have a good relationship with my family either, so I'm on my own a lot of the time
There's something really comfortable about talking to you though
That's why I find IRL so intimidating though. I can never figure out if someone's being genuine or just trying to string me along so they can make fun of me later. I get so tired of social games and all the different cues you gotta look out for. So I just avoid dealing with it if I can help it.
But if talking to me is an escape from all of that, then I'm glad. I'll keep trying my best at this whole social thing.
I think that's fair. Still, it makes me sad to hear that people have made fun of you. Being strung along sucks, and navigating social situations is frightening so I can't blame you.
But talking to you...it's not just an escape, though. It's nice, yeah, but... I just want to talk to you because we're friends. Don't think too hard about it! I'll back off if it gets to be too much.
I kind of accepted it a while ago. But it does still suck. And it sucks that YOU'VE had to deal with it too! It becomes way too easy to start assuming the worst of every new person you meet, doesn't it?
