Basically, after Mithrun died a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to make a little more of a formal complaint to CC Corp about this shitshow of a beta. But they didn't have any alternative contact info on their website besides an address. So I sent them a letter.
Except it came back.
[ Attached is an image of an envelope, address on the front matching that on the CC Corp website, with a red stamp above it that reads RETURN UNKNOWN. There was a genuine attempt here. ]
I'm sure I got the address right, so I don't know why it would've come back to me like this. Could you check the address out in person for me?
I have actually heard a similar story from tabibito-san; it seems their letter was also returned.
You know, I have been considering something like a business trip there anyway. Perhaps soon would be a good time for that... Although there is the matter of that "Q&A" that they are holding next weekend. I wonder how that will go?
Consider it my own personal interest, Hector-san. I won't request anything in return from you just yet, other than your cooperation; there may in turn be something I need someone in the States to do for me, someday.
That said, if I discover some valuable information, I may not let it go for free. You understand, I'm sure.
That's Hani, right? I'll reach out to them, too. Thanks.
I'll be happy to do whatever you need to make this easier. Work's hectic but I'll see what I can do if you need me to go somewhere. And I get it - we're on the same side here. Whatever you need me to do to pay you back, I'll do what I can to make it happen.
To be honest I'm not all that optimistic about the Q&A lol.
That's my understanding. I don't want to be disrespectful by using a name I have not been given, you see.
[So formal, for a brat that had no problem spiking him in the face on the beach...!]
In any case, no need to rush, Hector-san. My people can take care of this for the time being, and when my hands are tied, that is when I will turn to you.
By the way, have you told anyone else about this, yet? Aside from our friends at CC Corp who surely can read this message.
[ Hector's hesitant to tell at first, but he doesn't really have much of a choice, does he? His hands are pretty tied at work—it's not like he can fly out to Japan on a whim. Even if he could, he doesn't know the language. He'd still be relying on someone else. ]
Fandaniel.
I'm trusting you on this. There's not a lot I can do from here and I hate how enigmatic this company has decided to be.
[Matoba had been thinking of his own offers to make that man in collaboration, so perhaps this was the perfect time and pretense to do so?]
You needn't worry. There is a limited number of options for what we might be able to do in order to gain the company's ear, but I'm sure that we will think of something.
[And more importantly- he can contact that man outside of where CC Corp can listen in. No need to let Hector know that.]
I will contact you further when I have good news. Or bad, I suppose.
The CyberConnect headquarters are indeed in normal operation with employees coming in and out of the building and the offices receiving mail and deliveries, however their security is, as expected, quite tight.
To say nothing of attempting to walk in the front door but even staking out their property summoned their ire, it seems.
Therefore, it seems reasonable to conclude that we are just being ignored, haha. Not too surprising, is it?
Myself, I thought that perhaps it would be something like a black site, with a rented building serving no general purpose. I was surprised to learn that it is actually in operation, but that only makes me more curious of what takes place inside.
Did you know, Hector-san? It seems several major staff, including Hien-kun, are foreigners and remote workers.
Well, in any case, I'm glad to have been of service.
Huh. I actually didn't know that. That makes me... I don't want to come off as rude, but more suspicious. If that makes sense. Why remote? What's so bad with the office? Lol
Anyway, just pointless questions. Thanks for everything, 0koto. See you in game.
@Hector
You said you live in Japan, right?

Good evening, Hector-san.
I do, yes. Why do you ask?

Your people, huh? Looking forward to what you manage to dig up, then.
I asked another the same favor, but it's not a competition. Figured the more people on it, the better.
[ Well. Not TOO many people, obviously. ]

Pooling our resources together would be safer than doing so apart, you see.
[Of course, he's only aware of a few others in the beta who are in Japan....]

But I appreciate it. Thanks, man. Looking forward to hearing about what you find.

A few things I was able to confirm.

I was half-expecting it to be an abandoned lot, but I think this is worse. Lol.
Thanks for going through all the trouble. I appreciate it.
