i suggested that someone give a motivating speech to increase morale of this ragtag group in the end we couldnt find anyone suitable bc i realized that i wouldnt want to waste my energy on people who wouldnt even consider listening and this meeting sure proved me right

I can't say I disagree with any of them.
It would be easier to converse in a way that is free and open to interpretation.
In that way you can easily form your own opinions and then take the initiative to investigate on one's own.
But, initiative seems in short supply, hm? That's the key problem, in my view.
