I wanted to ask for another opinion. I tried to talk to the administrator, but he wasn't all that helpful.

Do you...think that he'll be okay in real life?

Worry about yourself first and foremost.
You just started playing.
Don't try doing dungeons solo.
And make sure not to wander alone in areas with PvP on.

I'm starting to get the impression that he really does.

Is PvP...players fighting other players? And I won't do solo dungeons. They're not hard with other people, but I think it would be difficult to do by myself right now. I'm still level 1.

Yeah. It stands for Player Versus Player.
I did a dungeon once while I was level 1... I had two other players back me up, they were level 25.
And we got almost wiped out, so... yeah.
Not a good idea.
I'm not sure about my availability for the upcoming week, but I'll be logging in everyday for a few minutes.
